YARMOUTH, Mass. — Six weeks after being shot by the man also charged with killing a Yarmouth police officer, K-9 Nero is continuing to get healthier and stronger.

The Yarmouth Police Department wrote in a Facebook post that the K-9 partner of slain Police Sgt. Sean Gannon remains on restricted activity, but is eating well and building his strength back.

The department posted a picture of Nero on his morning walk Friday.
