Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Bonham St at 9:19 P.M. on August 16, 2019 for a traffic violation. The vehicle was occupied by 5 people. Back seat passenger 19 year old Chris Dwayne Brooks, of Paris, was found to be in possession of several pharmaceutical pills that he did not have a prescription for. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Brooks was arrested and charged with three counts of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
 
Paris Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 2700 block of N Main St at 9:55 P.M. on August 16, 2019. It was found that Jerry Lynn McDonald, 56, of Paris, was driving a 2001 Corvette and had collided into the back of a Ford pick-up that had been stopped at a traffic light. One of the occupants of the Ford pick-up was transported to PRMC for non-life threatening injuries for treatment. McDonald was found to be intoxicated and arrested. It was later found that McDonald had at least two previous convictions for Driving While Intoxicated and this charge was enhanced to a felony. McDonald was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
 
Paris Police took a report of a theft in the 2000 block of Lamar Ave at 8:19 P.M. on August 17, 2019. It was reported that over the past few months, five employees had stolen over fifteen thousand dollars from the register. The investigation continues.
 
Antonio Dewayne Parker, 29, of Paris, was stopped for a traffic violation in the 800 block of NE 7th St at 8:11 P.M. on August 18, 2019. During the stop, Parker  gave officers consent to search his vehicle. Officer located a handgun and methamphetamine inside the vehicle. It was found that Parker is a convicted felon and he was charged with

 
At 8:19 P.M. on August 18, 2019, Aaron Ramon Ethridge, 27, of Paris, was observed in the 3800 block of Lamar Ave in a vehicle. Ethridge was a suspect in a disturbance that had occurred on August 17th, 2019. Officers found that Ethridge had an outstanding parole violation warrant. Ethridge was arrested and placed in jail.
 
Paris Police responded to 265 calls for service and arrested 16 persons over the past weekend ending at midnight on August 18, 2019. ##
