FORT WORTH, Texas- On Tuesday, October 8th, 2019 from 1:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. the Safariland Group will be at Bob Bolen to conduct a brief presentation.

First they will be inducting Officer D.C. Lancaster #2578 into the Saves Club for his brave actions on July 18th during a standoff on 2900 Broadmoor Dr. In this call a 19 year old male armed with a handgun had two hostages in an apartment and refused to surrender or release the hostages. During this time Officer Lancaster was the primary officer attempting to communicate with the suspect who soon begin firing shots at officers. Just as Officer Lancaster obtained a Safariland Protech Assault II ballistic shield a bullet pierced the door striking the shield.

The Saves Club honors officers who, during the line of duty, experienced a life-threatening incident in which their Safariland Group armor or gear contributed to saving their lives. These heroes become advocates for the law enforcement community, expressing the importance of wearing body armor, providing safety tips derived from their own experience and serving as living proof of The Safariliand Group creed: Together, We Save Lives.

After this presentation Safariland will be presenting the Fort Worth police department with a replacement ballistic shield replacing the equipment that was compromised protecting Officer Lancaster.
