FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GALVESTON COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY ANNOUNCES

 TREE OF ANGELS CEREMONY

GALVESTON, TX -- The Galveston County Criminal District Attorney’s Office cordially invites you to join them for the 21h Annual Tree of Angels Ceremony on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., at the Galveston County Criminal Justice Center, 600 59th Street, Galveston, Texas.

The coming holidays are a difficult time for victims of violent crime and their families, but they can also be a time of reflection.  The Tree of Angels ceremony provides a meaningful way to memorialize and honor loved ones who have been lost to violent crime.

The ceremony is a reverent forum where friends, family and community members may come together to remember, honor and support crime victims and their families. It is a time to celebrate the lives of crime victims and demonstrate their lasting value and significance.  The District Attorney’s Office began hosting this ceremony 20 years ago and each year reaffirms its commitment to seeing that justice is done for crime victims and their families.

Four trees will be placed in the Jury Assembly Room of the Galveston County Justice Center.  During the Tree of Angels ceremony, the names of each crime victim will be read aloud, and friends and family members will be able to place an ornament on one of the trees in memory of their lost loved one.

Please mark your calendar for this very special event.  If you would like to be a part of this event or for additional information, please contact the Victims’ Unit at the Galveston County District Attorney Office at (409) 770-5124.
