From The Office of Sheriff Henry Trochesset:

PRESS RELEASE

Sheriff  Henry Trochesset  announced today his  staff is gearing up to host the Galveston County Citizen’s Sheriff’s Academy’s 22nd session starting on January 13th, 2020.

The Academy is an interactive learning experience for citizens, providing them a detailed look into the operations of the Sheriff’s Office.  Over the 12-week course, attendees are offered opportunities to experience firsthand the responsibilities and functions of the Sheriff’s Office throughout all of Galveston County.

This session joins the twenty one previous classes that have graduated over 800 citizens. Participants are able to join the Galveston County Citizen’s Sheriff’s Academy Alumni Association, a group actively involved in supporting the Sheriff’s Office and participating in a variety of community events throughout the entire county.

Graduates from our Academy are not only armed with knowledge about how law enforcement agencies truly work but become our partners in developing stronger links with the communities we serve. They are an important key in helping us understand the community and problems our communities face.

The Citizen Sheriff’s Academy is free and will be held on Monday evenings from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM starting January 13th, 2020. The CSA will be held at Galveston County Sheriff’s Office located at 601 54th St. (Joe Max Taylor Law Enforcement Center).

For more information or to join in this exciting learning experience, call (409) 766-2333 or visit the Sheriff’s Office website at www.galvestonso.com. You may also contact the CSA Coordinator, Lt. Tommy Hansen at tommy.hansen@co.galveston.tx.us.
