On November 23, 2019 at about 1:40 am, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 23000 block of Majestic Forest in New Caney, TX in reference to a family violence in progress call.

According to information provided to dispatch, an altercation occurred between a 26 year old white male identified as Colin Kitchens, and his family members. As the altercation escalated, Colin reportedly took up a pistol, held it up in the general area of his own head, and fired a shot into the air. After Colin fired the shot, Colin’s family members fled to the front yard to await Deputies. Colin followed them shortly thereafter. When Deputies arrived, Colin retreated into and barricaded himself in the home.

After many hours of tireless effort by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Crisis Negotiators, Colin ultimately surrendered without incident. No injuries were sustained by Deputies or the involved parties. Colin Kitchens is being charged with Deadly Conduct, and will be evaluated by mental health professionals.
