FORT WORTH, Texas - Adriana Nixon is 6 years old who loves school, softball, basketball, and cheer.  She is the youngest child in a family of six.  On July 19, 2019, Adriana was diagnosed with a very rare form of liver cancer in children, hepatocellular carcinoma.  The odds of a child getting hepatocellular carcinoma is less than one in 1 million.  Adriana is currently undergoing chemotherapy to get the tumor to shrink and undergo a liver transplant.

To boost Adriana's spirits, the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) will officially name Adriana as an Honorary Police Officer on Jan. 9, 2019.  The ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. at 505 W. Felix St.  Adriana, Adriana's family, and members of the FWPD Command Staff and officers will be on hand to officially 'swear-in' Adriana.
