Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8700 Beechnut Street


Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 8700 Beechnut Street about 10:10 p.m. on Sunday (March 15).  

The identity of the female victim, a pedestrian, 63, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer V. Garcia reported:  

The driver of a gray Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on Beechnut and struck the victim, who may have been crossing the road.  The driver did not stop to provide assistance and continued driving.  The victim died at the scene.

Investigation into Shooting at 8300 Broadway Street


Houston police are investigating the shooting of a male that occurred at 8300 Broadway Street about 10 p.m. on Sunday (March 15).  

The victim, 24, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers L. Kauffman and C. Bowling reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim had been shot multiple times.  He was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital in stable condition.    

At this time, there is no known motive or suspect(s).

Investigation into Man Found Dead at 7300 Schuller Street


Houston police are investigating the death of a male found at 7300 Schuller Street about 1:30 a.m. last Friday (March 13).  

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers S. Ragsdale and A. Graf reported:  

The victim got into a verbal altercation with friends which led to him being kicked out of the house.  The incident escalated further and the victim was shot.  He was then put in the bed of a pickup truck and taken to a different location.  

A male victim matching the description of the male placed in the pickup truck was found later in the evening in a drainage ditch at the above address.  At this time, it has not been determined if the victim in the ditch is the same male involved in the above incident.  

The investigation is continuing.
