DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A Dallas man is being praised for coming to a Dallas police officer’s aid by pinning down a man who was trying to attack the officer.  All while bystanders allegedly were recording video with their phones.

It happened at Ross and Henderson Friday afternoon. The officer said 30-year-old Tetus Powell was trying to attack him while most of the people around him were just shooting video. He said passer-by Steve Mabry was the only man who stepped in to help.

Mabry said he was driving down Ross near Henderson when he saw the officer on the ground struggling with a man who was trying to take his taser.

I am thankful no one got hurt now I am glad one person had the guts to help the officer as for the rest of the able body adults your nothing you saw the man needed help but only videoed it I hope your children don't grow up to be like you better change yours ways because your just as bad as the criminal the officer was protecting you from when good people do nothing bad people will rule yea I know the person who helped the officer could have got hurt mabey even killed. But you who did nothing you will remember this over and over again and if you where not afraid and just did not help then your worse better start Praying it may be you some day that needs help we need to back the blue not hate it work to help our country not destroy it God help this country what have we become what have we raised where are the real men at now People Pray for your country
