Theft
July 19 (7:40 a.m.) Temporary tags were stolen from two vehicles overnight in the 16800 block of Blackhawk Blvd.
July
19 (2:38 p.m.) A theft of an iPad was reported. The theft occurred in
April 2022 in the 300 block of E. Parkwood Avenue. An AT&T
technician was distracted giving directions when a male on a bicycle
stole the iPad.
Fraud
July 18 (9:39
a.m.) A Friendswood man received a statement of benefits letter from the
Texas Workforce Commission. The victim has not filed for unemployment
and believed his identity was stolen and used to file a fraudulent
unemployment claim.
July 20 (9:40 a.m.) Skye Tanner Runyon, 28,
of Livingston, was charged with Fraudulent Use or Possession of
Identifying Information. Jesse Caleb Johnston, 34, of New Orleans, was
charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The two men were in the
back parking lot of the Baywood Apartments located at 5025 FM 2351.
Management called police when they observed the two men arrive in the
apartment complex, didn’t live there, and began unloading property out
of their vehicle and putting it in a wooded area behind the apartments.
The witnessed described the men as intoxicated or high. Runyon was found
in possession of credit cards and identification cards belonging to
other persons. Runyon also had an outstanding Brazoria County warrant
for burglary. Contact was made with the owners of the credit cards and
identification; they were victims of vehicle burglaries in Houston.
Johnston was found in possession of a methamphetamine pipe.

20 (2:19 p.m.) A Friendswood woman reports that someone used persona
identifying information to obtain benefits from the national healthcare
marketplace.
July 22 (11:25 a.m.) A Friendswood man’s Valero gas
card was compromised and used to purchase $400 worth of diesel at
Baytown Valero. The victim believes the card information may have been
skimmed.
Assault
July 23 (6:17 p.m.) A
warrant request was filed charging a 24-year-old Friendswood man with
Assault Family Violence with previous convictions. Officer responded to
a residence in the 5300 block of Whittier Oaks Drive. The suspect is
accused of assaulting his brother. Medics were called to treat the
injured man.
July 24 (2:27 a.m.) Getzabel Gomez Ramos, 41, of
Friendswood, was charged with Assault by Contact – Family Violence.
Ramos is accused of assaulting her boyfriend at a home in the 300 block
of Overlook Drive.
Narcotics
July 18
(1:18 p.m.) Daphne Crystal Sutherlun, 43, of Santa Fe, was charged with
Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1. Sutherlun was
stopped for expired registration in the 3800 block of FM 528. Sutherlun
had a probation violation warrant in Guadalupe County. A police
narcotics K-9 arrived on scene and a search of the vehicle was
completed. Methamphetamine was found.
Driving While Intoxicated
July
18 (10:39 p.m.) Joel Michael Stelly, 38, of Friendswood, was charged
with Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carrying Weapons in the 2100
block of W. Parkwood Avenue. Stelly was stopped for failure to drive in
a single marked lane. He exhibited signs of intoxication and failed a
field sobriety test. During the inventory of Stelly’s vehicle, a gun was
found.
July 24 (2:48 a.m.) Cory Alan McPartland, 41, of Lake
Jackson, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated in the 300 block of
E. Parkwood Avenue. Christal Lynn Sweeny, 36, of Sweeny, was charged
with Public Intoxication. McPartland was stopped for speeding. He
exhibited signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test. The
passenger, Sweeny, was highly intoxicated. Cold beers were found inside
the vehicle.
Traffic
July 18 (7:22
p.m.) Omar Ahmed Kaseb, 18, of Pearland, was charged with Fail to Signal
Lane Change in the 3300 block of FM 528. Kaseb was stopped for speeding
and changing lanes without signaling. When the officer caught up to the
vehicle, Kaseb was traveling at 99 mph.
July 21 (7:21 a.m.)
Alfredo Gonzalez, 41, of Houston, was charged with No Commercial
Driver’s License and Overweight Commercial Vehicle. Gonzalez was
stopped in the 1600 block of Winding Way for a commercial vehicle
inspection. The truck he was driving was overweight and Gonzales only
possessed a class C driver’s license, instead of a commercial driver’s
license. This was the fourth time Gonzales has been the subject of a
commercial vehicle inspection and each time it was noted that he did not
have a CDL.
July 22 (10:07 p.m.) Steven Daryl Love, 58, of
Alvin, was charged with Driving with a Fictitious Registration. An
officer conducted a license plate check on a vehicle in the 2100 block
of W. Parkwood Avenue. He soon learned that the registration belonged
on 2001 Dodge pick-up, not a Nissan Altima. The vehicle registration on
the Altima expired in 2019.
July 22 (10:37 p.m.) Christopher D.
Strickhausen, 42, of Houston, was charged with Driving While License
Invalid and No Insurance. He was stopped for driving with a defective
tail lamp in the 700 block of W. Parkwood Avenue.
July 23 (1:54
a.m.) A 40-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the
intersection of Laura Leigh Lane and Tibet Road. According to the
victim, a car drove over the curb and into the grass. She was hit with
the passenger side front end of the vehicle. She was unable to provide
any vehicle description.
Found
July
24 (7:41 p.m.) A cell phone was found in the 200 block of Castlewood.
It was placed into safekeeping until the owner identifies it.
