Missing Woman Found Possibly Dismembered in Texas; Suspect Allegedly Searched ‘How to Be a Serial Killer’
Montgomery County, TX

Felicia Johnson’s likely dismembered remains were discovered in Texas almost a year after she went missing, and the man accused of killing her is still at large, according to investigators.

According to a press release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, a worker with the Texas Department of Transportation called police around noon on February 7 after finding what might have been human bones in a section of the Sam Houston National Forest close to Flamingo Lakes and Highway 149.

The announcement claims that when deputies arrived, it was discovered that the remains were indeed human. Samples were then sent for DNA and dental record examinations.

Dental records have confirmed that the remains are those of California’s missing Felicia Johnson, the sheriff’s office said. “It is with a heavy heart that we report this,” the sheriff’s office stated. “We hope this provides some closure for the Johnson family and friends.” “Our hearts go out to them.”

After hearing the news, the father of the 24-year-old lady spoke with ABC 13.

According to Kevin Johnson, who was quoted by the site, “Her body has been located so that she can return to obtain justice for herself.” This is the first piece of the puzzle that will enable law enforcement to carry out its duties and prosecute these criminals.

According to the police, Johnson traveled to Houston, Texas, last year from her native San Diego, California, in pursuit of employment, as People reported in 2022. She applied for a job at a nearby exotic dance establishment while she was in Houston.

According to a press release from the Houston Police Department, Johnson was reported missing on April 16 of last year after her bloodied cell phone and pocketbook were found close to a neighborhood park.

In connection with Johnson’s death, detectives later named Chukwuebuka Nwobodo, 28, as a suspect and laid murder and evidence tampering charges against him on June 9.

He had previously been detained on May 13 but was later let go without being charged.

Evidence, according to the authorities, demonstrates that Nwobodo, who is still at large, picked up Johnson from an apartment building and took her to his home, where he reportedly killed and dismembered her before getting rid of her body and personal belongings to try to hide the crime.

Johnson and Nwobodo initially corresponded via Snapchat, and Nwobodo promised to pay her $500 for an in-person meeting, according to court documents acquired by Fox 26 Houston.

According to the site, Fox 26 reported, citing the charging paperwork, that the defendant allegedly bought a saw, garbage bags, towels, and a flashlight after Johnson vanished. The charges state that while searching Nwodobo’s vehicle, police found Johnson’s blood in the backseat and trunk, as well as latex gloves, a kitchen knife, and a shovel.

The charging paperwork, according to Fox 26, claims that the woman’s DNA was also discovered in his apartment.

The suspect allegedly Googled “how to be a serial murderer” and “how does one plot a murder without getting caught,” according to the records, which were obtained by the publication.

According to a GoFundMe campaign created last year to cover her family’s travel costs, Johnson was described as a “beautiful young girl” who wanted to succeed in the modeling, hair, and makeup industries.

Call the Houston Police Department’s Murder Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477 if you have any information regarding Nwobodo’s whereabouts.
