Diamond Ikea Nicole Porter, 26, of Houston, was identified
as a suspect in two recent gift card scams at the Kroger store located at 3135
FM 528. She was first identified on August 5th when she and two of her crew
members were able to pressure the clerk into pressing additional keys on the
register to speed up the checkout process which in turn allowed them to steal a
loaded gift card. She returned on
September 6th and did the same thing, but this time she was able to get away
with four loaded gift cards. According to Kroger loss prevention investigators,
Porter and her crew are responsible for gift card scams at several Kroger
stores in the region. And, prior to
these thefts, Porter had several felony warrants for her arrest for incidents
at Kroger stores and was being held in the Harris County jail.
Burglary
Oct. 13 (12:37 a.m.) A window unit air conditioner was
stolen from a home in the 500 block of Portage Lane. The suspect vehicle was an
older model black Chevrolet truck, possibly an extended cab.
Theft
Oct. 13 (1:24 p.m.) A 16-year-old Friendswood High School
student is accused of stealing an Apple MacBook from a school teacher. The
computer was recovered and a charge of Theft was filed with a Galveston County
Juvenile Court. The 16-year-old was
booked and processed at the Friendswood Police Department before being released
to the custody of a parent.
Oct. 13 (4:25 p.m.) A catalytic converter was stolen off of
a vehicle parked in the parking lot of Friendswood High School located at 702
Greenbriar Drive. After reviewing the
surveillance video, the officer observed a white SUV pull into the junior
parking lot at 10:40 a.m. and pull up to the victim’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle is better described as a
white SUV 4-door with a sunroof, dark tinted windows and no front license
plate.
Oct. 13 (6:31 p.m.) A reimbursement check was stolen out of
the mail at a residence in the 16800 block of David Glen Drive. The check was issued and mailed on August
25th and cashed on September 2nd. A copy
of the cash checked showed that it was not endorsed.
Oct. 14 (5:25 p.m.) A Houston man had a court date at the
Friendswood Municipal Court on October 13th.
He does not have a valid driver’s license so he had a female friend
drive him to the court in his vehicle.
While he was inside the courtroom, the female friend left with his
vehicle and has not been seen since. The
victim did not have the female suspect’s phone number and tried to contact her
via Facebook. The stolen vehicle is described as a white and black 2005
Chevrolet Monte Carlo with Texas license plate 23961U1.
Oct. 17 (3:39 p.m.) A resident in the 2300 block of Durango
Bend Lane notice that jewelry was missing from her jewelry box. The last time
she knew the jewelry was all there was September 9th. On October 9th, the
homeowner received a text from her housekeeper who was in her home at an
unscheduled date and time.
A vehicle stolen from the 2400 block of W. Parkwood Avenue
on October 8th was recovered Tuesday evening, October 13th, in Halletsville,
Texas by the Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was damaged and
heavily scratched. The driver of the vehicle claimed that he had purchased the
vehicle on October 12th.
Fraud
Oct. 12 (3:29 p.m.) A Friendswood man was scammed. The call was from a man who claimed he was an
ICE agent and was investigating immigration fraud. The victim was told that he
had a warrant for his arrest; the phone number was spoofed and looked to be
coming from the actual phone number assigned to ICE listed on their website.
This phone call was followed up by a phone call from Officer “Jessica Watson”
who claimed to be with the Friendswood Police Department – we don’t have a
Jessica Watson. Watson instructed the man to pay $2,000 to prevent him from
going to jail. She texted him the Zelle account transfer information and told
him to go to his bank. He transferred the $2,000 and received another text
stating that the transaction failed. The victim became suspicious at that point
and contacted the police department. The bank was unable to reverse the
transaction to stop the payment.
Oct. 13 (6:22 p.m.) A Friendswood man received an iPhone in
the mail for a Verizon account that he did not open. After containing Verizon’s fraud division,
the account was closed. What happened
next was alarming. A black male, driving
a red Range Rover Evoque with a Michigan license plate, arrived at his home
looking to pick up a package from his brother.
The resident sent the man on his way but not before getting the vehicle
description, license plate number and a copy of the man’s Michigan
identification card.
Oct. 15 (10:48 a.m.) Police were called when a woman arrived
at a home in the 100 block of Cherry Tree Lane claiming she was the
homeowner. The woman had the same name
as the homeowner and had obtained documents with the homeowners’ signatures.
The officer became quickly aware that the woman had obtained the documents in
an attempt to steal the homeowner’s identity.
She was found in possession of other items that contained the identity
of other persons whom she had no connection with. The woman was recently
released from a hospital and was given a courtesy ride. At that time, no charges were filed until a
more complete investigation can be done.
She was, however, given a criminal trespass warning and told not to
return to the home on Cherry Tree Lane.
Assault
Oct. 12 (5:26 p.m.) Police responded to a fight in progress
in the 700 block of Penn Drive. When police arrived, they found two men in the
700 block of Quaker Drive, one was chasing after the other. Shaun Ryan Sonnier, 38, of Orange, and Travis
Lee Hodges, II, 34, of Henderson, were charged with Disorderly
Conduct-Fighting.
Narcotics
Oct. 14 (2:57 a.m.) Jocelyn Sarahi Valencia, 17, of Houston,
was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 3. Elias
Velaquez-Quino, 25, of Webster, was charged with Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia. Two vehicles were parked and running in the Kroger parking lot
located at 3135 FM 528. As officers approached the vehicles, they observed beer
and detected the strong smell of marijuana.
Valencia was identified with a Texas ID card and Velaquez-Quino with a
Guatamalen identification. Valencia was found in possession of Xanax.
Oct. 15 (12:06 a.m.) Caden Joshua Petty, 20, of Friendswood,
was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1. Petty
was stopped for an expired registration and making a wide right turn in the 100
block of N. Friendswood Drive. Petty exited the vehicle quickly and told police
that he had beer, weed and a bong. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana,
pipes, a grinder, tobacco, beer and methamphetamine.
Oct. 18 (12:26 a.m.) Joseph Ray Quintanilla, 38, of Danbury,
was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1.
Quintanilla was stopped for expired registration in the 900 block of W. Parkwood
Avenue. His driver’s license was
suspended and he appeared to be very nervous. Quintanilla gave the officer
consent to search his vehicle. During the search, the officer found crystal
methamphetamine, a scale and a pipe.
Driving While Intoxicated
Oct. 15 (12:34 a.m.) Loredana Bertolotti Gore, 45, of
Friendswood, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated-3rd offense and
Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 3. Gore was stopped for
failing to use her turn signal and failure to maintain a single lane. The
traffic stop occurred in the 300 block of N. Clear Creek Drive. Gore exhibited
signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test. She was found in possession of Wellbutrin and
Alprazolam.
Oct. 15 (11:52 p.m.) Jason Neil Forque, 44, of Pearland, was
charged with Driving While Intoxicated in the 100 block of Woodlawn Drive. He
was stopped for speeding. During the
contact, Forque exhibited signs of intoxication and open containers of alcohol
were observed inside the vehicle. When asked if there were weapons inside the
vehicle. Amanda Elaine Carr, 38, of Alvin, reached for a gun in the
console. Forque and Carr were detained
and a search of the vehicle was conducted.
During the search, the officer found THC cartridges. Forque failed a field sobriety test. Carr was charged with Unlawful Carrying
Weapons.
Oct. 16 (2:58 a.m.) Brent Clark Sweidel, 31, of Houston, was
charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carrying Weapons in the
1100 block of W. Edgewood Drive. Sweidel was stopped for speeding. He exhibited
signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test. Once Sweidel was in custody, an inventory of
the vehicle was completed. The officer found two guns inside the vehicle.
Oct. 17 (1:31 a.m.) Hermilo Rios Salazar, 55, of Houston,
was charged with Driving While Intoxicated in the 3300 block of FM 528. Salazar
was driving with an obscured temporary Buyer’s tag. Salazar did not have proof
of insurance and the buyer’s tag was not registered to the vehicle he was driving. The officer checked the VIN plate but it was
not legible. Salazar exhibited signs of intoxication and failed a field
sobriety test.
Oct. 17 (2:10 a.m.) Jose Moctezuma, 24, of Alvin, was
charged with Driving While Intoxicated in the 2300 block of FM 528. Moctezuma
was stopped for speeding. As the officer approached the vehicle, she noticed
the vehicle had fresh damage to the front end. During the contact, Moctezuma
exhibited signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test.
Weapons
Oct. 16 (10:53 p.m.) Elijah Nathaniel Hunter, 23, of
Friendswood, was charged with Unlawful Carrying Weapons. Hunter was stopped for
expired registration in the 100 block of W. Parkwood Avenue. During the
contact, the officer detected the smell of marijuana. A search was conducted
and yielded marijuana, a scale and a gun. At the jail, Hunter was found in
possession of several baggies of marijuana in his clothing.
Traffic
Oct. 13 (12:37 p.m.) Alejandro Guerrero, Jr., 26, of
Houston, was charged with Driving Without a Commercial Driver’s License. The
commercial vehicle enforcement officer conducted a commercial vehicle
inspection in the 1400 block of Moore Road. Guerrero was the driver and did not
have a commercial driver’s license. His vehicles have been placed out of
service five times prior to this inspection because he was driving without a
commercial driver’s license. A total of 25 commercial vehicle violations were
found during the inspection.
Missing Person
Oct. 14 (6:56 p.m.) A 34-year-old Friendswood woman has been
missing from her Friendswood home since September 30th. Carrie Toombs Robinson is diagnosed with
bipolar disorder and frequently refuses to take her medication. The last time she was seen by a family member
she appeared depressed. She left the
residence in a blue 2004 Mazda CX5 with Texas license plate LKY0243. Robinson
is described as a white female, 5’4” tall, 175 lbs, with brown hair and brown
eyes. She has tattoos on her chest,
lower right leg and left upper arm.
Animal Cruelty
Oct. 15 (9:50 a.m.) An animal cruelty
investigation is underway in the 1000 block of Merriewood Drive. On October 14th at approximately 7:00 p.m.,
the victim’s cat returned home and was injured.
The cat was taken to the emergency vet hospital and had to be euthanized
due to the severity of the injuries. It
was determined that the cat had been shot.
