Montgomery County PCT 4 Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden’s DWI Unit arrested seven more impaired drivers over the weekend, including yet another person who chose to assault officers during their investigation.
Just before 11:00 PM on Saturday (11/13/2021), A PCT 4 DWI Unit responded to assist RFPD (Roman Forest Police Department) with a single-vehicle crash at Roman Forest Blvd. and Chariot Ln. Upon their arrival, Units saw the male driver, later identified as 47-year-old Agapito Salinas, from Houston, TX, trying to push his car out of the ditch. While officers were asking Salinas what had happened, he became very threatening and aggressive, which escalated into him kicking both officers repeatedly. Additional Units arrived on scene a short time later, and were able to assist in getting Salinas detained. There were no serious injuries reported.
Salinas was one of seven DWI arrests made by PCT 4 this past weekend. Even though the other six were fairly uneventful, it’s not uncommon for impaired drivers to lash out at Deputies both vocally and often times physically. Just a couple of weeks ago, PCT 4 DWI Units were bitten and spit on by a female DWI suspect. And just like her, Salinas was arrested on additional charges of Assault on a Public Servant.
”Alcohol and/or drugs definitely affects people’s driving and decisions,” stated Constable Hayden. “This often leads to violent attacks on our Deputies on the side of the road. Despite that, they continue to put on their uniform and patrol our roadways. I’m proud of the work our DWI Unit is doing to make East Montgomery County a safer place to live and drive.”
